Whether you're an old hand on this four stringed wonder, or an absolute beginner, we offer plenty of ways to join a group and take part in performances. Check out all the options below...
Ukestra Groups
Our ukestras are fun, low stress and entertaining places to learn music together. Teachers from The Sum of the Parts (music) are experienced musicians who encourage you to find your own level of achievement.
Making music together is the perfect antidote to the feeling that you will never be able to play music. You can. What’s more, you’ll enjoy the company of others.

Monday Morning @ Horizons Golf Resort 10am - 12 midday
Since 2010, now at Horizons Golf Resort (after 13 years at Fingal Bay) with Mark. This is a mid level ukestra with mixed level repertoire (easy and hard), for all levels of players.
Monday Evening @ Carrington Bowling Club 5.30-7.30pm
A face to face ukestra at Carrington Bowling Club and broadcasted on Zoom - perfect for detailed learning with Jane and Mark. This is open to new players.
Wednesday Night @ The Cricketers Arms Hotel in Cooks Hill 6-8pm
A relatively new group at the Cricketers (cnr Bull and Bruce) with Mark. This is the best option for those who are new to the ukulele. Back to basics, with some balance for the more experienced players.
Thursday Night @ Carrington Bowling Club 7-9pm
A face-to-face ukestra at the Carrington Bowlo with Mark and Jane. Slightly more rambunctious (that'd be the beer/wine factor vs. the daytime coffees). A younger demographic doing the sorts of songs that younger folk like. This is a mid level ukestra with mixed level repertoire (easy and hard), for all levels of players.
Saturday Morning @ Carrington Bowling Club 10-12pm
A face-to-face Newkestra at the Carrington Bowlo with Jane and Mark. Perpetually focused on being a little easier for newbies, whilst still providing challenges for the more experienced.
Beginners Workshops
In order to participate in a Ukestra, you need to at least have some basic knowledge of the Ukulele.
Don't have that???
Then come along to one of our regular (roughly monthly) beginner workshops.
If you are uke-ready to join a Ukestra (most guitarists should be fine without a beginner workshop), contact us and you can get started.
And about once a month we have a very special singing event - the One Song Sing, where 150+ people come together to sing one song.
