PAYMENT

Most Ukestrans pay through the very affordable ‘Uketen’. Details on that are here.

If you don’t yet want to commit to a uketen, you can pay a casual fee of $22 cash on the day.

Request Sessions (last one was 18 May)

People make repertoire suggestions all of the time, and I often accede to them.

Believe it or not, I do have a loose ‘educational’ goals built into my logic of what and and why we do any particular song. However once a month I set up a dedicated Request Session where I try to let go of a pre-meditated set list.

At this session YOU make a request, from our existing files. If you are a regular, then you should know the link to those files already. So make a request either before (by email), or during the session. And because we are now projecting the music (no more printouts), and because most people are on some sort of device, it is easy to pick and choose at the time.

However there are some rules.

  1. Every person gets a veto right
  2. HOWEVER … the act of a person veto-ing someone else’s request means that the veto-ing person forgoes their right to request.
  3. NOTHWITHSTANDING … if the veto-er garners the veto-votes of 2 additional supporters, the request cancellation rule no longer applies.
  4. There is a further penalty for anyone who has 2 vetoes imposed upon 2 requests: they must go and stand in a nearby hallway or toilet until the next song has elapsed.
