The Sum of the Parts (music) encourages everyone to be a member of the Folk Club. It is important to recognise that the ukulele boom is but one part of an enormous music-making community that has existed for aeons. That is what folk music is. Music of the people – not generally of commercial interests. If you join the folk club then you are covered for legal liability when performing. We require all performers to be a member of the Folk Club. To get a form to join the Folk Club through the Ukulele Community, click here.

In February 2014 the committee sent out this letter clarifying the Public Liability Insurance scheme.
We have three ukulele community members on the Folk Club Committee: Martin Bond, Pam Bradford and Christine Garvin. Under the guidance and legal imprimatur of the Folk Club, the Ukulele Community of the Lower Hunter runs the biannual Newkulele Festival.
