Gigs

Performance is what we do. We help people learn how to perform, we help them perform, we conduct, and we perform ourselves (in various guises).

On this page are links to the various performing groups in which The Sum of the Parts (music) are involved.  We hope you will find it useful for deciding that you want something joyous, fun and musical for your event, be it a wedding, a fete, school, club meeting, pub, club or funeral.

The Ukastle Ukestra

If you would like the professionally lead community experience, then perhaps the Ukastle Ukestra is for you.  Organised and lead by a professional musician, Ukastle Ukestra appearances are usually reserved for large ukulele festivals (as far afield as Hawaii) , or local Newcastle events and festivals.

Click here for more information, or here for videos of previous performances.

Other local ukulele groups

We receive frequent requests for performances by ukulele groups at local community groups (Probus, View clubs, nursing homes, things like that).

One of our key objectives at The Sum of the Parts (music) is to empower and skill up people to take their music out into the community. Since 2009 we have been a catalyst for about 5 different community ukulele groups in the Lower Hunter to start up and perform regularly in community settings.

Contact us if this option seems the most relevant to your needs and we’ll put you in touch with one of these groups.
