Starting an ukulele club is about musical curiosity and building a music community. We have helped communities initiate and foster that curiosity and sense of community since 2009. It’s our job.
If you are somewhere on our list of places to go, and want to give things a really strong kickstart, perhaps see if we are available to call in to your town and help out.
Our Beginners Ukulele Workshop is the perfect way to energise your community into taking up music-making.
Do you reckon you have….
- 20+ curious and keen people willing to pay about 30 bucks each.
- 1 or 2 movers and shakers (it’s probably you if you are reading this!).
- A bed for two for the night
- A community with a network that is willing to spread the word. (By ‘network’ we mean maybe a community Facebook Group, or perhaps more traditional means like a healthy Country Women’s Association, a switched-on local coffee shop, or a vibrant Gestetnered community newsletter!).
- A suitable venue.

Here’s a lovely story of how a local uke group started up
Our experience in Evans Head (NSW North Coast) in early 2018 was really eye-opening for us. The power of the local Facebook Group, and a hungering for musical knowledge was central to its success, but our involvement was key. We organised it, worked with the local cafe, and had some well connected local contacts. Afterwards we did good follow-up, established a local Facebook Group for the budding ukulele community in Evans Head, and identified a local mover and shaker to keep the whole thing rolling. Then we went home.
Contact us if you think we might be able to help.
