Report from Tuesday 2 July – Jane takes the reins
Mark had a dental appointment, so Jane took the group today. Anyone got an opinion on how that went? David persisted with last week’s suggestion and brought 30 copies of Dark as a Dungeon – how appropriate for coal miner Geoff. Professional muso, Martin Beggs, joined David in leading the group on this. Grahame (!) sang Wagon Wheel, plus a whole swag of other songs that we can’t remember. About 24 people showed up to give the Teralba Bowling Club craft ladies their little bit of joy for the week.
Another LakeMacUkestra Jeff sent me his Soundcloud of a strangely Teralba Bowling Club Car Park inspired song that he wrote. Have a listen (not that we’ll be doing it any time soon!).
Report from Tuesday 26 June – An Auspicious Happy Birthday
About 23 showed up, it being a rather ribald affair at times. Our uke-toting NSW MP was able to show up (for her usual hour) as well. I love how people just accept her as another uke player.
Busy Line is proving extremely popular. If you haven’t heard the song, have a listen.
And we sang two happy birthdays. One 67 and one 26 years older than that. Congratulations Nora for being one of the oldest competent uke players in Australia! 93!!! (She won’t be reading this blog real soon, so I don’t think she’ll be too annoyed).
