We firmly believe in the power of group learning and fun sharing. That is what community music is all about.
Limited individual lessons prior to regional ukestras
Mark does do limited individual lessons up at Tomaree Ukestra just prior to the Monday session (8:45am). You have to give him a call or email to book in. Cost is $35 for a 30 minute lesson, and you can stay for the following session at no extra charge. We find that people only need one or two of these sessions before feeling ok about fumbling along at the ukestra (but anyone dedicated usually gets up to speed pretty swiftly).
Dedicated Individual Lessons
We do know that some people really desire to have individual lessons. And we like to try to help them connect with individual teachers in our community.
Many of you will know young John Wallace (far left of this photo, performing with Jack n Jel). In 2019 he graduated from the Hunter Performing Arts High School. He is now working as our Community Musician trainee but is also available for limited individual lessons. He is an exceptional musician, and turning out to be a rather empathetic, patient and knowledgeable teacher.
John is offering a limited number of intermediate ukulele lesson slots in the city. You can contact him at johndarbonwallace@gmail.com or give him a call on 0431 545 105.
For people that are beginners or novice players we have a new teacher in our staff, Issy Baccarini, who can take a limited number of private students. You can contact Issy on isabelle.baccarini@gmail.com
Both John and Issy’s teaching is independent of The Sum of the Parts (music), but we are happy to support them.
