We’re in a bit of a pickle, and WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
We’ve got 4 (FOUR!) different Festival offers for February/March. Can you please let us know which ones you would attend/perform at with the Ukastle Ukestra. There is a form below to complete. PLEASE DO SO!
Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival (BMUF) – Saturday 13 February 2027. For most of us this is a one day Katoomba performance. A lot of you have done it before. It’s a really lovely sociable day.
Launceston Ukulele Jamboree (LUJ) – this is one out of the box (especially in the context of the following two opportunities). It is 11-14 March 2027. Yes, it is Tasmania, and is being held in Launceston (but not in the city, rather it is at a church in the suburbs, which means 4km from the city centre). Jackie is a legend in festival organising, and this one is more like Valla Beach (a learning festival) and less like BMUF.
Newcastle Fringe – Sunday 21 March 2027, 2pm at the Polish Club (Chatham Rd, Broadmeadow, next to western end of the Racecourse). We did it in 2026 and it was really excellent.
National Folk Festival (the Nash) – this is not yet public knowledge, so please don’t put it on social media. The Ukastle Ukestra has been accepted to perform (presumably in the street, but yet to be confirmed). It’s Easter in Canberra – 25-29 March 2027. We know a lot of people will be interested in this.
