The Sum of the Parts music (both Ukastle Ukestra and Ukestral Voices) have been invited to perform at the Newcastle Fringe Festival in March. We figure it is a beautiful opportunity to showcase the best of what we have done over the last 16 years with our choirs and ukestras.
Our show is scheduled for 3pm Sunday 15 March 2026.
We’d love you to be a part of it if you would! The repertoire for the Ukestra (not in order) is as follows:
- Booster Seat
- Kashmir
- I Don’t Miss You (our parody of Miss You by The Rolling Stones)
- Common People
- Heroes
- Time After Time
Nearly all of these songs are recent (2025 except for Kashmir) and have simple and complex parts so we hope you have a bit of muscle memory of playing them. They will be included in the ukestra repertoire. However we will have 4 practices between now and the gig. The cost for these rehearsals (whether you do 2 or 4) is $20. You will need to attend at least 2 of these and attend ukestra regularly over the month leading up to the gig. The rehearsals are;
- 17th February (Tuesday) evening, 6-8pm at The Cricketer’s Arms Hotel
- Sunday morning 22nd February, 10-11:30am/midday at Carrington Bowling Club
- Sunday morning 1st March 10am-midday at Carrington Bowling Club
- 3rd March (Tuesday) evening, 6-7:30pm at The Cricketer’s Arms
Fill in the form below so that we can organise ourselves quickly.
