The Newcastle Ukulele Community makes a very significant contribution to the Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival, probably the largest of any community (outside of the Blue Mountains community themselves).
The festival is on the weekend of 11-13 February 2022. At this stage the Ukastle Ukestra are scheduled for Saturday 12 February at 5pm.
As yet we do not know how many people will be allowed to perform in the ukestra. In previous years we have had 70ish members of the Ukastle Ukestra.
To ensure COVID compliance the festival now costs $10, primarily to keep track of numbers. You can book those tickets here.
As we are still uncertain about numbers, we would advise you to buy a ticket as if you wish to go, but we will remain non-commital at the moment about who will be performing with the Ukastle Ukestra. As in past years, we would hope to include everyone who pays the rehearsal fee and attends rehearsals. This year we should be able to include an online rehearsal component for those who wish to tune in via zoom. Honorary Novocastrians!
Everyone attending, including performers, volunteers and audience members must have a ticket and this entitles you to admission. The Festival intends to open up ticket sales to the public in the first week in November.
The Dinner/Show tickets will again be available through the Carrington Hotel. This sells out quickly (Friday night) and you should yourself stay in touch with the festival so that you can know when they go on sale.
We will have four rehearsals with a flat rehearsal fee of $20 (whether you do 1 or all rehearsals).
Rehearsal Dates at the Carrington Bowling Club

Our repertoire has yet to be selected, but we feel we have some exciting new ones! Of course, you will get an idea if you are currently attending ukestras.
