Shower the People
(with thanks to Bec, and apologies to James Taylor)
Sung to Bec Bowie at 7am on Saturday 25 May 2024 in celebration of her place, Estabar.
You can brew the coffee
You can nurture chai tea
And you know it’s not the labneh and eggs
You felt that food without love
Just wasn’t your way
You knew a cafe with heart would have legs
One good deed leads to another
Composting of waste a nice touch
Oh Father and Mother
Doggies and lovers
If it tastes nice,
Don’t think twice,
You’ve
Showered the people with food that you love
Shown us the way that you feel
Estabar has felt like home for nearly 20 years
Because of your love
You’ve showered the people with food that you love
Shown us the way that you feel
Estabar will still be here from the seeds you’ve sown
You can run, but you cannot hide
From our gratitude
What you plan to do with your brand new life
Now you don’t get up and make food
Thanks for letting us show you
The way that we feel
Do you feel that you now can relax?
Is it true that the words you really won’t miss
Decaffeinated soy on side short black
You’ve
Showered the people with food that you love
Shown us the way that you feel
Estabar has felt like home for nearly 20 years
Because of your love
You’ve showered the people with food that you love
Shown us the way that you feel
Estabar will still be here from the seeds you’ve sown
Shower the people with Bec who we love
Show them the way that we feel
Repeat infinito
