We are a couple of presumptuous Australians who are bringing our brand of ukulele love to Iceland. Just for one night!
Together we run 8 ‘ukestras’ each week in our hometown in Australia. It’s what we do for a living.
Our aim is to help kick off, or kick along, the revival of ukulele music-making in Reykjavik.
Our teaching method is renowned at ukulele festivals throughout the world, but particularly in North America where we have featured at numerous festivals, most recently the Calgary and Kamloops Ukulele Festivals in Canada.
Since 2011 we have annually visited and taught at uke clubs in the US and Canada. We have tried to get in touch with Haraldi from Ukulele Reykjavik, without success. But from what we can see, (and given our limited language abilities – we only speak English), we could not find an adult ukulele group in Reykjavik. Please let us know if we are wrong about this! Meanwhile, here is what we are able to offer…
A 2 hour ukulele workshop at Cafe IÐNÓ on Thursday evening 12 July 2018 from 6:30pm.
We are flexible in what we can deliver…
Are you an existing group who feels there must be more to uke than just strumalong? We can help!
Are you someone who wants to learn how to play, but haven’t yet found the right bunch of people? Maybe we can help! But just let us know what you would like.
Our method of teaching (ukestration) accommodates a wide range of players – from beginner to experienced. It costs nothing to register, but the workshop costs kr2000 cash when you come along to the cafe.
We’ll let you know on Wednesday 11th July how things are going with our planning.
But we must know who might come and what your skills are so that we can best tailor the workshop to people’s needs. Please register your interest on the form below.
