Each year (in non-pandemic-times) the Newcastle ukulele community enjoys heading down to the festival held by our just-south-of-us-cousins. This year they have moved into the Lake area, so it ain’t a long drive at all.
The festival is on the weekend of 13-15 May 2022 and will be held at the Wangi Wangi RSL.
The Ukastle Ukestra is performing at 3pm on Sunday 15 May.
Rehearsals
We have two scheduled rehearsals with a flat rehearsal fee of $20 (whether you do 1 or both rehearsals).
Sunday 1 May – 3-4:30pm, Foreshore Park
Saturday 7 May – 3-4:30pm – Foreshore Park
Our repertoire will be similar to that played at Katoomba and Melbourne but we hope to add one new one Wild Night (practice those riffs!). Of course, you will get an idea if you are currently attending ukestras.
Proposed Repertoire
Final repertoire choice depends upon a number of factors, but will be selected from the following.
- Gold on the Ceiling
- Colours
- Homecoming Queen
- Kashmir
- Take it to the Limit
- No Surprises
- Wild Night
