Australia’s own Ukulele Teacher Certification Program
The purpose of the JHUI Teacher Certification Program is to raise the level of ukulele teaching worldwide and to foster an international community of ukulele teachers.
A Teacher Certificate recognises the attainment of knowledge and performance skills as well as a pedagogical understanding of the James Hill Ukulele Method. While not a qualification per se, certification provides acknowledgement of an ability to teach music literacy through the ukulele, providing tangible evidence of achievement to employers and/or students.
We are very lucky to have James personally delivering the JHUI here in Newcastle, Australia. Newcastle Airport is a direct flight from Brisbane and Melbourne. It is also short train trip from Sydney. Newcastle’s central and very accessible national location makes it attractive even for those who are coming from international locations (or New Zealand).
An additional incentive for JHUI attenders in 2016 is the Newkulele Festival being held on the following weekend (21-23 October). James Hill and Anne Janelle are the headline act.
There is also a one day RATPAC being held by The Sum of the Parts (music) during this period.
The first Level One JHUI class commenced in 2014.
A new intake of Level One students is being held on Saturday/Sunday October 15-16, 2016.
Level Two 2016 is being held on 17/18 October, 2016.
Level Three 2016 is held on 19/20 October, 2016.
